NEW YORK, NY, December 22, 2020.  –  Andrew Yang, now that he is contemplating a run for Mayor of New York City, has deleted his tax returns from his website.

In connection with his run for the Presidency, Andrew Yang previously released his tax returns for tax years 2011 through 2018 and made them available on his website at https://www.yang2020.com/tax-returns/See November 22, 2019 Huffington Post Article, “Andrew Yang Releases 8 years of Tax Returns,” at https://www.huffpost.com/entry/andrew-yang-releases-8-years-tax-returns_n_5ddf396ee4b00149f7295a09.

Now, however, that it is widely reported that Yang is contemplating a run for Mayor of New York City, Yang has scrubbed his tax returns from the internet.  The page at which Yang’s campaign had previously released his tax returns now says, “404 Not Found.”  See https://www.yang2020.com/tax-returns/.  A “404 error” message means that the website itself can be reached but that the page itself is not available, and thus, 404 messages appear when a user attempts to follow a broken or dead link.

“Andrew Yang largely evaded scrutiny during his run for President, because he was not viewed as a serious contender,” said Aaron Foldenauer, Candidate for Mayor of New York City.  “Now, Yang is hiding his financial dealings from voters of New York City by scrubbing his tax returns from his website.”

These facts, which have not been previously reported, were uncovered by Aaron Foldenauer, Candidate for Mayor of New York City.  Foldenauer previously revealed, in a December 14 Press Release, that Andrew Yang used campaign funds during his run for President to pay himself and to purchase more than $225,000.00 worth of his own book.  See https://aaronfornyc.com/press.

Notably, Andrew Yang’s website, www.yang2020.com, is otherwise still functional.  Users can still read about Yang’s Policies, read his biography, and view other information about his campaign.  In other words, Yang has deleted his tax returns on a targeted basis while leaving the remainder of his website as operational.

“Andrew Yang enriched himself during his run for President, and now Yang is seeking to hide tax returns which he has already placed in the public domain,” said Foldenauer.  “Given the budget crises that the City faces, we cannot afford Andrew Yang’s self-dealing and his current attempts to conceal his own financial records.”
